Draft notice for paddle registration, session cookies, and pickup. Counsel has not approved this page.
This pack is a starting template assembled from public auction-marketplace practices and California CDTFA resale guidance. It is not legal advice, is not a substitute for counsel, and must be reviewed by an attorney for the auction house’s state, tax registration, and sale format before buyers are asked to acknowledge it via NativeSign.
Policy pack auction-house-bidder-policies-v1. Questionnaire stub still has [ASK] slots — we do not invent rates here.
Who operates this site?
- House of Bid (houseofbid.com) runs this bidding house. SD Surplus Auctions is a housed seller, not the parent brand.
What we collect
- Paddle registration uses a name, email, and optional phone. We store a session cookie so your paddle stays on this browser. Staging also has a test buyer that does not require SMTP. We do not ask for a live card on the public bid panel while payment is gated.
How we use it
- We use this information to operate timed catalogs, invoices, pickup, and fraud review. We do not sell personal data.
Who we share with
- A housed seller may see what they need to stage pickup for lots they consigned. Processors we turn on later (payments, email) will be named here after counsel review — they are not live on this draft.
Your requests
- Write support@houseofbid.com to ask what we hold, correct it, or close a paddle. State privacy rights (including California) stay pending attorney review — this page does not claim CCPA completeness.
Consent and cookies
- A versioned consent ledger and cookie/comms banner now exist as drafts on this house. Necessary session cookies keep your paddle on this browser. Email and SMS notices are optional. This is not a CCPA-complete program. Deletion still goes through support email until counsel approves a workflow.
