House of Bid
Warehouse consignment vs sorting the house yourself
Warehouse consignment companies pick up the house contents, sort them off-site, photograph them on a studio table, and run a national timed auction. House of Bid keeps the walk in the rooms. Families mark keep, donate, trash, and sell with Post-its, QR-sticker only the sell pieces, and photograph in place. Choose Event or Yard on Sell, or apply as a repeating house on Join.
What does a warehouse company actually do?
A national consignment like Everything But The House consults, then their crew sorts, authenticates, and photographs in a processing facility. Bidding happens on their marketplace. Pickup is often at their warehouse, not at the original address. That is the right product when nobody in the family can walk the rooms.
What does House of Bid keep in the house?
The estate stays a house sale. You walk clockwise, Post-it every object, QR-sticker yellow sell pieces, and photograph in place. The code binds to a timed lot. Pickup is at the address on the sale, not a distant warehouse. Print the sticker sheet or order the pack. Managed House on Join is the repeating-house path, not a warehouse pickup network.
Which path should a family pick?
Cannot walk the rooms, cannot host pickup, need jewelry authentication at scale — look at a warehouse consignment. Can host a week, want provenance in the room, will sort keep versus sell — use the kit, then list Event or Yard. We do not clone warehouse catalogs.
Questions
Do you copy Everything But The House catalogs?
- No. Housed lots stay on Explore. Warehouse consignment is a different product; we do not clone those catalogs.
Is Managed House the same as warehouse consignment?
- No. A repeating auction house runs catalogs here. They still photograph and clerk their own rooms. We do not operate EBTH-style processing warehouses.
